What Our Employees Are Saying
My name is Richard Charlebois. I've been in the arcade/vending business for 15 years. I recently joined the Dave & Buster's team as a senior game technician. I've been commuting to Providence for the time being. I live in Brockton, Massachusetts. Braintree is 15 minutes from my house. Dave & Buster's is a great place to work and to bring the family to have a great time. I would really like to see it come to Braintree because there's nothing else like it around.
My Name is Jessica Foley I am the New England Region- Special Events Manager. I have been employed by Dave & Buster's for 10 years. I started off as a waitress, and my hard work paid off. I was promoted several times. Dave & Buster's has afforded me many opportunities. I grew up in Maine and NH, and I'm excited to be on the coast with the Red Sox Fans and Clam Chowda. I relocated to Massachusetts to work at Braintree from New York this past month with excitement of the opening, and returning closer to family. I hope that the community will see how great this can be for the town. This will bring many jobs to Braintree citizens thru the construction and opening. I think you will find Dave and Buster's provides a great atmosphere for families. Children's Parties are among our top parties booked. Philanthropy with in the community is also something we pride ourselves on. Safety, responsibility, and quality are all a top focus.
My name is Kevin Hill. I have been working at Dave & Buster's in Providence Place for the past three years. I grew up in Milton, Massachusetts. I was hoping to move back to the Southern Boston area when the new Dave & Buster's opens up in the South Shore Plaza to be closer to my family and friends that I grew up with. Dave & Buster's is a great company to work and I have enjoyed my three years with them.
I am a Mass. resident that currently pays taxes in two states. I would love to transfer to a store within driving distance of my home to remain with a company that is unparalleled in its industry. I also have employees whom currently live in Braintree and throughout southern Mass. whom would greatly benefit from this move. I also from working within realize how a D&B would spur revenue streams throughout its immediate area, which can only be good for the local economy. For instance the use of local vendors: produce, printing, hardware, maintenance, and hosting events for the local chambers of commerce. I really have hard time seeing the comparison of a Nordstrom or Macy's, whom would only utilize their companies deliveries and vendors none of them local, with the exception of maintenance. I also currently am the AGM in Providence whom proudly employees upwards of 185 great people. I am sure the immediate area of Braintree could use that kind of growth. I read and responded to Mr. Turleys Speak Out column in the Ledger, and would definitely bet he has never been to a Dave & Buster's as his assessments had many flaws and where unfounded. My family and I particularly where confused by his mention of the growth of women in the work force. We find that to be a positive not a negative as it was suggested. I also found it offensive that he stated that Dave & Buster's was a place for men in a perpetual refuge to remain in adolescence. That is a ridiculous statement as a father of two. I proudly host my children's birthdays at Dave & Buster's, and I am a very conservative individual. I would never bring my daughters someplace that I deemed immoral or unsafe.
Currently Dave & Buster's in Providence host a huge number of Mass residents whom take their money out of state and spend it in our neighbors economy. That makes no sense when that money has the ability to stay local.
The current laws in place on coin vending are outdate and need to catch up with the times. If the concern is alcohol I am sure they have would have more problems with the local bar than they would with a D&B that provides appropriate staffing, security, and continued alcohol education.
My name is Derek Solomon, I am the Amusement Manager in Providence. I have been here for 2 ½ years now and love it. I live in Mass and was very excited about the opportunity to open the Braintree location, so I would no longer have to travel to Rhode Island. Dave & Buster's is all about being part of a Team/Family, and I believe in everything that they stand for. This would be a great opportunity for the Braintree community, we continuously are looking for ways to give back to the community and helping our surrounding businesses. I hope that we are able to open this location and everyone will realize how wonderful Dave & Buster's really is.
My name is Joshua Alger. I was recently employed by Dave & Buster's in Providence, thinking that when the new store opened I would be working there. Instead of driving the hour and half that I have to drive to Providence. I really enjoy my new job with Dave & Buster's. It's a great place to work and I really look forward to spending less on gas in this slow economy. Hopefully, Braintree will open so I can afford to continue my career with D&B.
